This year ladies of the League succeeded in turning trash to treasure in more ways than one! In March, the Charity League hosted Bargain Fair, a quadrennial event in which donated items are sold at a public sale. To add to the fun (and fundraising!) Bargain Fair went “boutique” this year and had local designers design rooms using items from Bargain Fair. “We were overwhelmed by the response from the community. Bargain Fair is an event extremely dependent on the general public, from item donations made by League Associates to attendance,” says Charity League President Mary Hunter Hancock. The event was a huge success and Charity League was able to make a $35,000 donation to Easter Seals of Western Kentucky – more than doubling the donation from the last Bargain Fair!
