The first-ever Paducah Bluegrass Bash, hosted by the Charity League of Paducah on Saturday, April 22, raised $53,417.25 for Easter Seals West Kentucky, the highest amount Charity League has ever donated from a single fundraiser.
The theme of the Paducah Bluegrass Bash was “all about Kentucky.” It was a casual evening of southern-style fun, featuring live bluegrass music from Solid Rock’it Boosters, signature Kentucky food and drink, a bourbon tasting with the Paducah Bourbon Society, and Kentucky-themed silent and live auctions. The event was held at the Paducah Convention Center.
Nearly 650 tickets were sold. Guests were able to satisfy their southern food cravings with gourmet samples from 12 popular restaurants and caterers throughout the region, including burgoo, hot browns, fried chicken, and BBQ. A Craft Brew and Bourbon Bar served Dry Ground beer and top-shelf Kentucky-inspired bourbon concoctions. Ale 8 and sweet tea were also available.
The event featured 150 Kentucky-themed silent and live auction items. The highlight piece of the live auction was a custom Tim Jaeger horse painting, “Lucky Maiden,” created especially for this event that sold for $4,500.
This donation brings Charity League’s total contribution to Easter Seals West Kentucky for their 2016-2017 year to an all-time high of $72,132.28. This donation amount is inclusive of proceeds from the Paducah Bluegrass Bash, as well as Snowball, their annual New Year’s Eve fundraiser.
Wagner Wine & Spirits was the Paducah Bluegrass Bash presenting sponsor. Corporate sponsors included: AECom, A&K Construction, Affinity Insurance Group, CSI, Ingram Barge, Marquette Transportation, Michter’s Distillery, Paducah Bank, Paducah Life Magazine, Peel and Holland, Total Anesthesia Solutions, and US Bank.
